Anaar Bloom Brushed Brass Ikebana Vase, Large
A single 9" ikebana vase in stainless steel with a brushed brass finish, with a clear glass bowl and a kenzan (the pin holder that holds each stem in place). A pomegranate (Anaar) cutout is on the kenzan. It measures 9" across the top and 6" across the base.
What it is: A contemporary vessel for the art of ikebana, the Japanese practice of arranging flowers one stem at a time. The kenzan is stainless steel with the same brushed brass finish as the vase.
Why it matters: Arranging flowers is a mindful moment. Flowers mark the most important points in our lives, and this is a way to slow down and express yourself. The vase lets the flowers show off in full and tell their own story.
How it works: Place each stem individually. The top of the kenzan keeps each stem straight, and the bottom cutouts hold it in place. Fill the glass bowl with water only to the first lip or curve of the glass, and change the water every 2 to 3 days. When you are done, dry the glass and wipe the water off the metal.
When to use it: It makes a big impact at dinner parties, lunches, special events, and special occasions. For everyday use, it adds drama to the flowers and the setup. The large size suits full, architectural branches and bold compositions. It works for weddings, outdoor events, and intimate dinners, and it helps elevate the experience at any of them. It also makes a thoughtful gift for housewarmings, weddings, and other special occasions.
What alternatives exist: The Small (5" across the top) suits single stems and a desk or shelf. The chrome version has a cooler tone. If you want flowers to stand with no kenzan, the Quick-Fix stem-support vase has a built-in structure instead.
