Foliage Repoussé Antique Brass Taper Candle Holders, Set of 2
A set of 2 taper candle holders, each 2" Dia × 1.25" H with a 2.25" top, in solid brass with an antique brass finish and hand-hammered repoussé leaves.
What it is: Two small solid brass holders with leaf designs inspired by Indian folk art, raised from the reverse side by hand.
Why it matters: The raised leaves catch the flame, and the antique finish makes the pair look as if it has been in the family for years.
How it works: Each holds one standard taper. The repoussé is hand-hammered, so each holder is slightly different.
When to use it: On a dining table, a console, or a mantel, in matching pairs. It works for everyday dinners and for special occasions such as weddings, outdoor events, and intimate dinners, and it helps elevate the experience at any of them. It also makes a thoughtful gift for housewarmings, weddings, and other special occasions.
What alternatives exist: The Foliage Fluted pair has a fluted base in stainless steel. The Peacock Repoussé holder has feather patterns in brushed brass.
Care: Brass needs careful care and changes color over time. That is natural oxidation, and many people value the patina. Dust with a soft cloth. To clean, use a soft cloth dampened with mild dish soap and warm water, wrung out until damp but not dripping, then a second cloth dampened with plain water, then dry fully. Do not use vinegar, lemon juice, baking soda, salt, abrasive cleaners, bathroom sprays, or bleach. To restore a tarnished piece, use a dedicated brass polish such as Brasso sparingly, because over-polishing removes the surface treatment. Let wax cool before removing it.
