Wholesale Brass Home Décor for US Retailers: Minimums, Lead Times and Terms
By Bhavini Khullar | Founder, Byaas | Adjunct Professor, Montclair State University
Short answer: Byaas wholesale has a $250 order minimum on Faire, 6-8 week lead times and ships from a New Jersey warehouse, with pricing that includes taxes and duties.
When Faire surveyed American specialty-store shoppers, the number who said they value product quality was more than double the number who said they value convenience (Faire, 2023). Read that again if you run a boutique. The people walking through your door are not looking for the cheapest version of anything. They are looking for the thing they will not find at a big-box store, and the thing they will not need to replace.
That shift is why I am writing this. Brass is one of the few categories that fits it perfectly: it looks premium, it lasts for decades and it gives a small shop a reason to be visited. Here is how wholesale brass works, what to ask any supplier, and how it works with us.
Why brass sells right now
The trend data agrees. Pinterest's 2026 forecast named "Neo Deco," a modern revival of Art Deco, as a key home trend, with searches for a "brass aesthetic" up 35 percent year over year (Pinterest Predicts, via Apartment Therapy). At the same time, designers interviewed by Good Housekeeping say 2026 is about craftsmanship and pieces with an almost heirloom quality (Good Housekeeping).
Brass sits right where those two ideas meet. A customer can buy one pair of solid brass taper holders and restyle them for every season. Emily Henderson's team is calling ice blue, burgundy and amber among the defining colors of 2026 (Emily Henderson), and every one of them looks beautiful as a taper in brass. Tell that story at the till, and you are not selling a candle holder. You are offering the relief of not having to buy another one.
Minimum orders
Most suppliers set a minimum for the first order, as a total value, a unit count or a minimum per product. For a boutique or gift shop, a mixed assortment is usually more useful than depth in one item, so ask whether minimums apply to the whole order or to each SKU.
Lead times
Lead time depends on whether a product is in stock or made to order, and on the finish. Hand-finished brass takes longer than a catalog item pulled from a shelf. Ask for a ship date in writing and place seasonal orders early. For autumn and holiday selling, many buyers order before the season begins.
At Byaas, core styles are warehoused locally in New Jersey, so in-stock orders do not wait on international freight.
Pricing and margin
Wholesale pricing is set so you can sell at retail and keep a healthy margin. Many home decor retailers work to keystone, meaning retail is roughly double wholesale. Ask for a price list with recommended retail prices, and ask whether the supplier protects retail pricing online.
Payment terms, freight and returns
New accounts often pay up front. Established accounts may qualify for terms after a few orders. Ask who pays freight, how breakage is handled and what the returns policy is. Packaging matters with brass, because a finish can be marked in transit. We pack every piece to arrive sale-ready.
How wholesale works with Byaas
Byaas supplies US retailers with handcrafted brass, stainless steel and iron home decor made in our family's 70-year-old workshop. Start with the wholesale registration form. Once approved, you can view the wholesale catalog and wholesale collection, and our team shares current minimums, lead times and terms with your account. Our order minimums are $250 on Faire with lead times of 6-8 weeks, all pieces are shipped from our local warehouse in New Jersey. Pricing includes all taxes and duties.
Questions to ask before you register
Ask about minimums for first orders and reorders, current lead times by product, payment terms, freight and damage handling. Ask whether samples are available, and whether exclusive designs or custom finishes are possible. Ask how price changes are communicated so nothing catches you mid-season. Good suppliers welcome these questions. Vague answers are a reason to keep looking.
Seasonality and reorders
Home decor sells in waves. Candle holders and tabletop pieces peak around autumn dining, Thanksgiving and the winter holidays. Vases and planters do well in spring. Wall art and statement pieces sell steadily year-round. Plan your first order around the next season and keep a reserve of best sellers. Our gifts collection is a good starting point for the holiday window.
